Taking the airport train from Narita to Shinagawa. After inbound passengers disembark, staff block off the entrances to each car. One worker per car walks through the aisles collecting garbage. Makes sure every window blind is at the exact same height. Turns around each pair of seats so they are now facing the outbound direction. Only then can new passengers board.
Mount Fuji iconically poking through the clouds in the distance as we approach Tokyo. The ANA cabin crew were rather wonderfully proud of this view.
Sister Act was one of the Hollywood Films available. Described as “Intoxicated with the Music that ‘Connects Hearts’” And also: “Performances and gospel-style hymns are tops”
The in-flight meal was delicious.
Flight three. Expectant. Nervous. Slightly giddy with anticipation.
We spent a couple of days with Nina, Felix and Lara, during which time we learned much from Felix regarding dinosaurs and the “monster mammals”. I’m not sure it was all 100% true, but it was certainly delivered with a tone of conviction to rival David Attenborough.
Back in Oxford, ten years to the week after Susan first arrived.
