Well, that was Korea. It was a really fun, interesting an accessible place to be – young, (generally) prosperous, buzzing. Still, one thing that struck us as a bit odd, in particular on our visit to the DMZ area, was that both our tour guide and the various museums and sights repeatedly emphasised the goal of eventual Korean reunification. Quite how the South could bear the economic and social impact of this was not discussed – it would surely make the reunification of Germany (which was one of the most developed countries in the communist Bloc) look like child’s play, and stall what is currently a pretty phenomenal rise.
